Absent: G. Gustavson and M. Spencer (Administrative Assistant).
A quorum was called by G. Colbert and the meeting was called to order at 7:07pm.
Approval of Minutes: M. Compton moved and B. Tassie seconded the March 13th minutes be approved as corrected.
Community Relations: Block Captain assignments were given out by M. Compton. She reported that the Scouts and volunteers have stenciled more storm drains – reminding the public that all storm drains lead to the ocean.
Finance: A. Richardson had sent out a PDF of the finances earlier for our perusal. He stated some CD’s had matured in March and had been reinvested at a more favorable rate. No expenditures for dredging were made this month. About $4000 was collected in late maintenance fees from a lake house that was recently sold.
By-Laws: Presentation of the amended By-Laws at the April 17th meeting was discussed. It was decided that this would be an informational meeting. Block Captains should convey this message to their assigned houses. We will ask or input from those who attend. Voting will occur in the future.
Lake Maintenance: S. Oshiro reported that he had removed some barrels that had floated into Kimo’s Cove. Our two floating berms hare collecting trash. Wind changes can sometimes send the flotsam back up the storm culverts.
Dredging: S. Harding brought us up to date on the progress of the dredging project. All of the many permits have been submitted and we now must wait for various agencies to act on them. In the meantime, he is conferring with possible dredging and trucking companies to ascertain who would like to submit a RFP once the permitting in completed.
Next Meeting Date: The next meeting will be on Tuesday, May 8th, 2018 at 7pm in the A & B meeting room. The meeting was adjourned at 9:02pm.
Action List: 4/10/18
17/9-2 S. Oshiro: Continue quest for permanent lake cleaner
18/1-2 J. Fernie: Ask canoe clubs to encourage City and County to open the berm on a regular basis – when it will be the most beneficial for a good water exchange.
