By-Laws: G. Colbert reported that Bev Hiramatsu has not yet finished our new By-Laws. We hope to have them in the month of January.
Strategic Plans: The December 17th Christmas Flotilla was discussed. M. Novack, G. Colbert, and hopefully G. Lingle will be present with their barges in the center of the lake at 5:30 that evening. C. Turner will post this information on our website along with a phone number if people without a barge or boat wish a pickup. If the weather conditions are bad, she will send out a cancellation notice via email that day.
Dredging: S. Harding updated us on the status of the project – permits, letters, meetings, water quality testing were all discussed. G. Gustavson moved and M. Novack seconded to approve $27,871 needed to extend the contract with Oceanit to complete the additional requirement of a 401 WQC (water quality certificate) needed to support dredge permitting. The motion passed.
Lake Maintenace and Health: S. Oshiro reported that he had done a cleanup after one of the major storms. This was in addition to the big cleanup done in November. C. Turner said our two fifty ft. booms should arrive on December 13th. They will be placed by the Hele Street drain and the Akumu Street outfall to capture the flotsam that flows out of the City and County drains during heavy rains. G. Colbert has some 6ft pieces of angle iron that may be helpful in securing the booms.
