Christmas Flotilla

Hau’ole Makahiki Ho!

As 2017 comes to a close, we want to thank you for your support this year. The board continues to work on your behalf to improve the ecology of the lake and make life on the water more enjoyable.

Here’s highlights of the year’s activities:

  • Cleaned up and removed countless bags of trash from the Lake with ELRA crews and volunteers.
  • Completed the DPP extension at the end of 2016, and now working on revised Bylaws to meet today’s conditions.
  • Started Phase 1 of the lake dredging process: Preparing plans and obtaining permits.
  • Worked with Girl Scout volunteers to paint “No Dumping, Drains to Ocean” on storm drains around Enchanted Lake.
  • Installed first of two floating debris collection booms to contain trash from large city storm drain channels.
  • Organized 4th of July Fireworks on the Lake party and the Holiday Boat Parade.
  • Represented and advocated for the Lake at monthly Kailua Neighborhood Board meetings.
  • Continued to pressure the city for monthly openings of the stream mouth.

Wishing you all the best in 2018!
