Enchanted Lake Residents Association, Board Meeting, January 20, 2015
Present: Greg Colbert, Bob Molyneux, Margaret Novack, George Lingle, Rod Castanha, Stephen Kofsky, Alan Richardson, Shannon Oshiro, Jennifer Creedon, Doug Kroll, Michele Compton (by phone)
Bob Bourke (Scientific advisor), Cindy Turner (Webmaster), Melody Spencer (Administrative Assistant)
Absent: Kelly Adams, Linda Jenks, Kelo Maosi
A quorum was declared and the meeting called to order at 7:06pm.
Approval of Minutes The minutes for the November 11, 2014 meeting was reviewed and approved.
Ongoing Business:
Financial Report Jennifer reported the current balance on checking and savings accounts along with the expenditures for the month. There are no pending bills due at this time.
Block Plan Update Michele Compton reported that work is being continued on the concept. She thanked Cindy for updating the website to include the information. Recommended that reminder letter go out prior to starting the block plan action. Greg stated that he would like to have more information by next meeting.
Lake Health Bob B. shared that the he continues to work on making sure provisions for erosion control are being made for the 2nd increment of the Olomana Estates Development.
Last month the lake was up to 2’10”. As it has been dry this month, the lake is currently just above 2”. He informed the Board that 2-4 years from now, his company will be working on a project that will bring water up from Kawainui Marsh to Lake.
Executive Session:
The board went into Executive Session to discuss the update/status of ongoing litigation. In addition to the board, Bob Bourke and Cindy Turner were also included as they are a part of the litigation liaison committee.
Strategic Planning
Margaret continues to make progress on the strategic planning calendar which includes an action plan.
Round Table
Bob B. reported that the planned dredging of Kukilakila boat ramp has been canceled. He shared that the Kukilakila Association’s Property Management had a lot of questions and requirements they wanted in place, so the “good neighbor” offer from Goodfellow Brothers to do the work has been declined.
George proposed that we waive the fee for Chaplain Steve Jensen who is a guest member of ELRA as he runs the Wounded Warrior Program which he takes the wounded warriors and their families out on his barge to enjoy the lake. All board members present were in favor of waiving the fees contingent upon Chaplain Steve providing proof of insurance and paying the power boat sticker fee.
