The 2023 ELRA Annual Meeting was held on Saturday, October 21, at the Mid-Pac Country Club in Lanikai. The weather was beautiful, and because we started the meeting in the late morning, we were all able to enjoy the spectacular ocean view from the ballroom.
The meeting began with no-host cocktails at 11:30, followed by a delicious buffet lunch at noon. ELRA President Don Young introduced City Councilmember Esther Kia’āina, who spoke about the many projects that are underway that affect our community. The business portion of the meeting followed and included an update on the dredging project, lake water sampling, and lake cleanup initiatives including hiring a cleanup contractor and building two new lake work floats/barges.
Representative Lisa Marten also attended the meeting portion and participated in a lively question-and-answer session. There was a nice turnout for the event and we received many positive comments about the location, food, and presentations.
